The following is a guest article by my son Isaac. He loves baseball, and knows more about the game than anybody.

The 2020’s are full of great hitters and pitchers, which means a lot of strikeouts and runs.

Let me name the great hitters: Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Mookie Betts, Ronald Acuña Jr., Fernando Tatis Jr., Kyle Schwarber, Bobby Witt Jr. All these hitters hit great, but also strike out a lot.

These days you could be a great hitter with 37 homers and 200 strikeouts and a 260 batting average. Today, no one seems to care how much you strike out if you hit a lot of extra base hits.

Schwarber and the Phillies are an example. I am a Philadelphia fan, so I see the Phillies play a lot. They hit a lot of home runs, but strike out a lot.

There are a lot of teams in the major leagues that have a lot of power, and a lot of strikeouts.

Another reason is because the pitchers, including Skenes, Skubal, Webb, Sanchez, Crochet, Peralta, King. These Pitchers strike out a lot of batters because they swing for the fences. Not the gap.
